Flights from Lampung to Batam serviced by Sky Aviation airline

Previously, the route of flight from Lampung to Batam have been served by Batavia Air, before the airline declared bankruptcy some time ago. Sky Aviation operates routes from Lampung to Batam three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Lampung Governor, Sjachroedin ZP, hopes that the flight route from Lampung to Batam will be able to boost the economy of Lampung in the sectors of tourism and trade. Sjachroedin judge that with the new route will open up opportunities on business, particularly marketing products typical of Lampung to Singapore and Malaysia through Batam. "The route is expected to contribute to the economy of Lampung," said Sjachroedin, the implementation of the first flight of Sky Aviation, Radin Inten II Airport, South Lampung.

Sjachroedin said the construction of transportation facilities is critical to support the business activities in Lampung. Moreover, Lampung has a strategic position as a gateway to Sumatra. "We asked Sky Aviation to provide timely service," said Sjachroedin.

Flight route from Lampung to Batam and vice versa once served Batavia Air, before it was stopped because the airline declared bankruptcy. Responsible for Sky Aviation in Lampung, Rizal Hariyanto, said that the flight route from Lampung to Batam that selected by his airline has nothing to do with Batavia Air. According to him, long before Batavia Air is declared bankrupt, Sky Aviation had an interest in this route to expand its destinations. "We open a new route, not to fill the route of Batavia Air. Previously, we already have plans to open this route because the load factor is pretty good."

Rizal target that in every flight, the load factor can reach 80%. Sky Aviation serves flights from Lampung to Batam three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Director Sky Aviation, Alamsyah Sidulingga, said that Sky Aviation plans to add a fleet of 12 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. The planes will be brought in gradually until 2015. In addition to the Governor of Lampung, maiden flight on the new route also witnessed Colonel Czi. Amalsyah Tarmizi, and Head of the Transportation Department of the Riau Islands.
