Flights Balikpapan-Kuching Malaysia Has Served by MASwings

Direct flights connecting Balikpapan and Kuching Malaysia from aircraft served the airline MASwings. Malaysia-based airline sells tickets routes Balikpapan and Kuching Malaysia with the price RM 312 for flight period February 1, 2013 to April 30, 2013.

Balikpapan-Kuching now has a direct flight route. MASwings a pioneering airline that connects the two cities by air. The new route was inaugurated by the CEO of MASwings Datuk Mohd Nawawi Kapten Awang, CEO of Sarawak Tourism Board Dato Rashid Khan and the Consulate General to Kuching Djoko Harjanto, Kuching, Tuesday, January 15, 2013.

According to Djoko, in a press release on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, the flight was possible thanks to the transport cooperation program of BIMP EAGA. Malaysia's Tourism Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg present at the opening ceremony. BIMP-EAGA is a sub-regional economic cooperation in Southeast Asia consists of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. This partnership was formed in 1994 and aims to accelerate the economic development of its member countries.

Furthermore, Djoko said, MASwings scheduled to fly to Balikpapan every Tuesday. Meanwhile, on Friday and Sunday, the aircraft will fly from Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. The new route will begin on February 1, 2013. Airline tickets sold at RM 312 for a round trip flight period 1 February 2013 to 30 April 2013. Garuda Indonesia is serving the Balikpapan-Singapore flights route

PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk inaugurate flights Balikpapan – Singapore in Sepinggan Airport, Balikpapan, on Thursday (26/7). This route is the development of the Makassar-Singapore flights route to become Makassar-Balikpapan-Singapore route.

Flights from Balikpapan to Singapore started operations on this Friday (07/27/2012). After arriving from Makassar, the plane is scheduled to depart from Balikpapan at 10:55 pm. This flight using Boeing 737-500 aircraft with a capacity of 96 passenger, configuration are 12 passengers in executive class and 84 passengers in economy class.

Inauguration of the flight was conducted by VP Eastern Area Indonesia Garuda Indonesia Rosyinah. Also present at the event East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek Ishak, Mulawarman Military Commander Gen. Subekti and Balikpapan Mayor Rizal Effendi.

Rosyinah said the initial opening of the route will be scheduled four direct flights from Balikpapan to Singapore which is on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. If the potential is quite interesting, it would be possible to open a flight to Singapore every day. "We are still exploring the potential," said Rosyinah.

Meanwhile, Governor Awang Faroek also hoped that Garuda can also reach out to other areas in East Kalimantan, including linking East Kalimantan and provinces other in Kalimantan Island.
