To support the tourism transportation on flight routes of Semarang-Karimunjawa, Central Java provincial government is working with several parties will increase capacity of Dewandaru Airport in Karimunjawa, Jepara Regency.

The step is to increase the length of the runway which was originally only 800 meters to 1200 meters. The addition of runway length is important so Dewandaru airport can serve more planes, because this airport can only accommodate small planes, and only at certain times only. So far there are only two ships serving the sea crossing route to Karimunjawa, the KM Muria Ekonomi dan KM Express Bahari 2, executive class. Both of these ships have different travel times.
