Indonesia Aviation. The runway at the Dewandaru Airport, Karimunjawa, will be increased again to 1,200 meters in length. Currently runway at Dewandaru Airport has a length of only 800 meters so it can only be landed by small plane only. To implement the plan, the Central Java provincial government will work together multiple parties. |

The step is to increase the length of the runway which was originally only 800 meters to 1200 meters. The addition of runway length is important so Dewandaru airport can serve more planes, because this airport can only accommodate small planes, and only at certain times only. "Probably it will be added to a long runway. If many aircraft that can land at the Dewandaru Airport, will support tourism transportation, because at this time can only be serviced by a ship," said Prasetyo Aribowo, Head of Culture and Tourism of Central Java province, Saturday 23 February 2013, in Semarang.
So far there are only two ships serving the sea crossing route to Karimunjawa, the KM Muria Ekonomi dan KM Express Bahari 2, executive class. Both of these ships have different travel times. "If using a ship, in the months between December and March, is very prone to big waves, so that the ship could not serve the crossing," said Prasetyo Aribowo.
