Batik Air open flight routes to Ternate

Direct flights Makassar-Ternate and Jakarta-Ternate will soon be served by airline the Batik Air. According to the plan, flight routes of Makassar-Ternate and Ternate-Jakarta by Batik Air began operation on December 19, 2014. Batik Air uses Boeing 737 aircraft which has a capacity of 150 passengers to serve these two flight routes.

Batik Air airline will open routes to the Sultan Babullah Airport, Ternate, North Maluku, to support the smooth flow of air transport to and from the city. "We've got a report about the opening of Batik Air flight route to Sultan Babullah and plans maiden flight performed on December 19, 2014," said Deputy Mayor of Ternate, Arfin Djafar, in Ternate, Sunday (12/14/2014).

Batik Air will initially serve the direct flights Makassar-Ternate commute and Jakarta-Ternate commute by using the type Boeing 737 with a capacity of 150 passengers.

Arifin said, Ternate government welcomed the service flight of Batik Air to Sultan Babullah Airport because it will further enhance the role of Ternate as the main gate to the North Maluku province through the air. In addition, it is also expected to be an attraction for tourists, both from within and outside the country for a visit to Ternate. One cause of tourists reluctant to visit Ternate for this is the limited air transport.

He expects the Batik Air not only to service direct flight Makassar-Ternate commute and Jakarta-Ternate commute, but also with other important cities in Indonesia, including Bali which has been the main entrance of foreign tourists to Indonesia. Even if you allow other airlines also open a direct flight route from the Sultan Babullah Airport with various overseas cities, such as Tokyo Japan to facilitate tourists from the country visited Ternate.

At the Sultan Babullah Airport far there are four national airline flying from and to the airport, namely Garuda Indonesia, Sriwijaya Air, Expres Air and Wings Air with seven flights every day.
